Terry Nelson, Jr.
Terry worked as a carpenter beginning in 1990, gaining experience on a variety of residential and commercial construction projects as a Project Foreman. In May of 1995, Terry was promoted to the Assistant Division Manager Position with Builder’s Bloc Contracting.
Terry quickly was recognized for his leadership and ability to recruit to talent to the company and was asked to oversee all aspects of Carpentry operations as General Manager of the Carbondale, Illinois area. Among one of his many accomplishments, Terry oversaw a huge housing complex and other builds at Scott Air Force Base. During this period, Terry managed nearly 225 carpenters on any given day. During this time, Terry also assisted in a similar project at Whitman Airforce base, with nearly 500 tradespersons under Terry’s supervision during this time, Terry never let Safety, Quality, or the Production of the workforce falter. Upon completion of these major projects in 2011, Terry returned to St. Louis and assumed the St. Louis County Carpentry Division Manager role for Builder’s Bloc. If there is a large residential project, in Missouri or Eastern Illinois that has been built in the last 20 years, whether that be housing for troops and their families, apartments, student housing, or senior living facilities, odds are, Terry Nelson Jr. and his team of skilled, high quality Builder’s Bloc Carpenters did the job.
In 2014, Terry was promoted to General Manager of the Carpentry Division, overseeing all day-to-day operations of field personnel, managers, and estimating. With more than four decades of experience in the construction industry, Terry and his team of over 200 Carpenters remain one of the largest Carpentry Contractors in the Missouri and Illinois, installing around 1500 new front doors for Builder’s Bloc Clients each year. Terry is a wealth of knowledge in the field and serves as a valuable resource for both clients and team members.
